You mean every time I
eat a potato chip, I am
helping the Mission?
Fabulous!

Question:
How can we raise thousands of dollars for the Mission,
year in and year out,
at
no cost
in about two minutes per person?
Sounds impossible doesn't it?  It's not.

If you shop at Dominicks
(or their affiliated stores in other parts of the country)

YOU can help build this Mission.
And it costs you…
NOTHING!
How it Works:

  • Register your frequent shopper card with us today.  It only takes a minute
    or two.
  • Shop at Dominicks or one of the affiliate stores listed to the left.
  • The store gives back up to 4% of what you are going to spend anyway to
    the Mission.
  • You do nothing else.  No vouchers. No receipts to turn in.  It is all
    automatic.
  • This could be a great way to counter any guilt you have for breaking a diet!
You do nothing else.
It costs you nothing.
Dominick's gives back up to 4% per cent of the money
you are going to spend....

ANYWAY!
This sounds absolutely
brilliant and simple.
Can I get my bridge
club, my church and
my colleagues at the
office to sign up too?
Frequently Asked Questions
Great idea! Gimme a
knuckle-tap
for Fr. Bob!
Can I sign up my
men's group, the
guys in my golf
foursome and the
boys at the club?
It is easy and, YES, you can
sign up everyone you know.
The possibilities are limitless.
Even family members in
other parts of the country
can sign up.  Here's how.
Okay, so how do we sign up? It better be easy
and fast. We have places to go and people to
see, you know.

For Individuals:

Option 1:   Simply e-mail the following information to Liz Trantowski at etrantow@yahoo.com
  • Your Name
  • Your address
  • Phone
  •  The 11 or 16 digit number off the back of your Dominick's Fresh Values card (under the bar code)
  •  If you are registering something other than a Dominick's card, please be sure to indicate that!
i.e. Safeway, Von's, Pavilions, PW Value, Genuardi's or Carr's. Otherwise we won't be able to register
    you properly.
  • That is all you do.  We do all the rest.  We register your info with a Third Party Program Administrator
who takes care of everything else and sends Fr. Bob a check.

Option 2:  Download this FORM  fill it in and mail, fax or give it to Fr. Bob (or scan and  e-mail to IrishNet@aol.com)

Option 3:  Sign up the next time you come to the Mission.  Sign up on the Mobile Food Pantry Day.

To Register a Group or Friends:
Download and make copies of this FORM, have the supporters fill in the information and mail or fax back
to Fr. Bob.  Please check to make sure you can clearly distinguish "4" from "9" and "6" from "8" and "0"
as the form is filled out. It will make our job a lot easier! Thanks.
I think I would like to
hear more.
We love shopping and
we have to eat!
We're "in!"
Nothing, eh?  When was the last
time something cost us nothing?
Here it comes...
IF YOU DON'T SHOP AT DOMINICK'S
Please get a Dominick's card and start!
We will try to have applications you can take with you, fill out
and mail in at the Mobile Food Pantry days.
What kind of
purchases count
toward this
program?

Just about
everything except
cigarettes and
liquor.  We are
verifying whether
gift cards count.
We will let you
know. If so, be sure
to buy all your
Christmas and
other gift cards
there!
Soap. Do you think
soap counts? I could
use some right about
now....
Do Rice Krispie
cookies count?
Yes, Yes, Yes!
Testimonial from a Chicago volunteer:

In October 2007, I attended Discipleship Days for the Archdiocese of Anchorage in Anchorage, Alaska. During the conference,
there were tables for various organizations set up around the conference room- one was for a little school in Anchorage.  The
woman at the table asked me if I shopped at Dominicks and if so, would I register my frequent shopper card to help support their
school.  I said, "Why not?"  It took about 2 minutes to register. I never thought about it again until seven months later when I got a
card from the woman thanking me for my support which she said really made a difference.  I had forgotten all about the program....
It was painless for me, yet meant so much to them.

I was just one person, but even if the contribution from my purchases was only $100 per year, if we could get 100 people to sign
up, that would be $10,000.  If all of our various groups could network out and we could get 1000 people to sign up, that could
make up to $100,000  a year for Fr. Bob - direct deposits to the Mission account with no worry to him.  He would be able to focus
on doing God's work.

At the September 6 Mobile Food Pantry, we introduced the program to the volunteers and neighbors who live in Humboldt Park.
The neighbors were the first to sign up!  They were so excited to participate in building the Mission.   That is the beauty of the
program. Everyone can participate- no matter how little or how much they spend. Relatives across country can help and watch the
progress on this web site.   It all adds up. It all counts.  Those who didn't bring their Dominick's card with them, said they would
bring it next month. Volunteers took information and sign up sheets back to their parishes to sign people up.   We already have 21
supporters signed up just from that one day with no advance notice to anyone.   We are enthusiastically on our way.
I don't know.
I may have to think about this...
(tick tock, tick tock....
money down the drain...)
My "friend" and I would like to sign
up... together.

Friends do that.
I am soooo with you Fr. Bob!
Sign me up TO-DAY, and thanks
for finding a way we can all help
in a tough economy!
If you shop at

We do this for
each other
because He did
this for us.
This page will be dedicated to finding creative and painless ways to help Fr. Bob fund the
ongoing operations of the Mission so he can focus on what he does best -
feed his sheep and tend his flock.
Creative
because there are so many possibilities that have not yet been considered.    We would like everyone to
think creatively, listen and watch for opportunities.  There is so much we do not do simply because we
think we cannot.    Please remember that with God, all things are possible.

Painless
because we know that it is not only the people who live in Humboldt Park who are feeling the negative
effects of a slow economy. Many people who love the Mission, Fr. Bob and helping others are also
hurting.   We want everyone to be able to participate in building this Mission - even  those we serve in
Humboldt Park.   We have heard others say, "Give until it hurts."  We don't want anyone to hurt.  We say,
"Don't give until it hurts, give until you love it!"

WE INVITE YOU
To share your ideas for other projects with Fr. Bob.
We have two more very exciting projects on the drawing board.
So please check back often!

Nothing is more practical
than finding God, that is,
than falling in love in a quite
absolute, final way.

What you are in love with,
what seizes your imagination,
will affect everything.

It will decide what will get
you out of bed in the
morning,
what you will do with your
evenings,
how you will spend your
weekends,
what you read,
who you know,
what breaks your heart,
and what amazes you with
joy and gratitude.

Fall in love,
stay in love
and it will decide
everything."

9/14: 8:11 pm - Woo woo. We just  posted this late this afternoon and we just received our first Safeway
supporter!  Thank you Paul in Virginia!   Thanks to everyone from Fr. Bob for your support.

9/17:  A major Chicago law firm put this notice in its firm newsletter this week and sent it to all of their
employees!   If you feel like doing something similar at your company, they probably would not object if you
borrow some verbiage.  (Thanks a lot!)  We won't keep posting this stuff, but we thought this was cool, and
we just enjoy sharing the good news with you!

A BONUS FOR YOU!!
For those of you who have been shopping at Dominick's for us, we want to point out that over the
last couple of months, as you shop, your purchases have not only been helping the Mission, but
they have gone toward points which allow you to get some great cookware. Look at the bottom of
your latest receipt and it will tell you how many points you have accumulated.
You must redeem
these points by January 13 or you lose them.
It doesn't take a lot of points to get some great
new pans.  So don't miss out.  Redeem them,  and if you don't need them or have a friend or
someone else you want to give them to, please bring them out to the Mission for the ladies in the
neighborhood.   Every woman knows that when there are kids (or grandkids) to take care of, the
last thing we splurge on is good cookware for ourselves.  Don't let the points go to waste.  If you
don't need the cookware, a new pan will surely bring a smile to someone's face!  Thanks.
